The 32nd Annual Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce Sea Witches Festival kicked off with an afternoon of fun on Friday, October 28th. There was the Tyke Bike on the boardwalk, shows at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center, and the Schellville Express at Grove Park.
If you see this Friday afternoon, October 28, it’s not too late for some fall fun at the Sussex County Family YMCA, 20080 Church St., Rehoboth, from 6 p.m., and trick or treat in downtown Dewey Beach starting at 6:30 p.m.
Starting Saturday morning, there’s plenty to do in Rehoboth Beach over the next two days, highlighted by the costume parade on Rehoboth Avenue at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 29. For those attending the parade, the chamber recommends getting into town by 9am. am due to road closures.
Other Saturday events include pony rides on the beach from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., an outdoor children’s area at First Street station from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., afternoon magic shows at the convention center , old-fashioned children’s games at 2 p.m. on the beach. across from Baltimore Avenue, and more.
Sunday events include opportunities to take selfies with Hilda the Sea Witch Balloon at the convention center from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the best costume dog parade on the boardwalk starting at 1 p.m.
The weather forecast calls for possible showers on Monday, October 31 on Halloween, but the weekend is looking good for the festival. According to the National Weather Service, Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny with highs of 60 and northeasterly winds around 15 mph. Sunday looks about the same, but with more clouds.
