All That Jazz: The Return of the Winnipeg International Jazz Festival


WINNIPEG — Two full summers without the traditional TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival didn’t appeal to jazz fans. But now it’s back.

“We’re finally back!” Said the Jazz Winnipeg executive producer Angela Heck.

We missed our [festival] audience and know they missed the festival, which marks the start of summer in downtown Winnipeg. It’s time to bring back that festival spirit and discover exciting new music while reconnecting with friends and enjoying the beautiful summer weather.

This year’s headliner is a Ukrainian electro-folk band Go towho will play with Balaklava Bluesat the Burton Cummings Theater on Friday, June 17.

In addition to Go_A, music fans can experience seven exciting series that will catch the ear of any festival reveler.

  • Jazz x CMHR at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights June 14-15
    • The features of the two-day stacked schedule Ms. Lisa Fischer + Great Staff, Naia Izumi, Renee Rosnes, Spencer Day and others.
  • Club Series
    • Albert’s Royal Coat of Arms with Andy Milne and Ingrid Laubrock, Jeremy Ledbetter Trio with a Grammy-winning drummer larnell lewis and renowned electric bassistrich brown. JUNO Winner Jocelyn Gould celebrate his album golden hour and more from June 15 to 19
    • King’s Head Pub highlighting soul, folk, pop and jazz-adjacent drag, featuring the witchprofitneo soul star, Tanika Charles, Jazz meets drag with the sensational Moxie Cotton from June 15 to 19
    • Jazz x Cinematheque highlighting the next generation of jazz stars on June 16 and 17
  • A collaboration in two shows with the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra at the West End Cultural Center on June 16 and 19
  • A new Jazz x CMHR Patio at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights group admission June 14-17
  • The ever-popular free scene in the Old Market Square, June 16-19. Remarkable premises Direction, Diaphanie, Anthony OKS, Chuck Copenace, HAVS, Super Duty Tough Work and others will occur.
