Best music festivals in the UK: 2022

If you’ve spent even a minute on Instagram lately, you’ll know that everyone ~raves~ about music festivals.

And if you — or any of your childhood friends — went through an “emo phase,” you’ll be painfully aware of the When We Were Young festival, which a) takes place in Las Vegas and b) is very expensive. A tragedy, if you ask us.

Fret not: there are literally hundreds of music festivals kicking off in the UK in 2022. There’s something for everyone, whether you want to let off steam at the Download festival in Leicestershire, or just want to something a little more laid back at the Latitude festival in Suffolk.

This year also sees the return of Glastonbury, after a two-year absence thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic. The full line-up has yet to be announced, but we do know that Billie Eilish will be one of the headliners, making her Glastonbury’s youngest headliner.

Awake

What to expect: Wide Awake is an independent music festival taking place in Brockwell Park, London. Featuring Bicep and Primal Scream as headliners, this one is perfect for fans of electronica and alternative Indie.

When is it? May 27-28, 2022.

Tickets: Friday tickets cost £44.50 (plus £4.45 booking fee) and Saturday tickets cost £39.50 (plus £3.95 booking fee). Weekend tickets start at £74.00.

BST Hyde Park

What to expect: Taking place over two weekends, BST Hyde Park offers six days of incredible concerts, featuring legendary artists such as Elton John, Adele, Nile Rodgers & Chic and Pearl Jam.
