Famous for its long love affair with cinema, the mythical city of Cannes also hosts Canneseries, the International Series Festival. The first week of April, every year since 2018, the famous city in the south of France highlights the richness and diversity of television creation and rolls out pink carpets.

This year and for the 4th time, Christian Dior Parfums was a partner of the Festival. “We are very proud to participate in the discovery of visionary talents from international television productions” said Laurent Kleitman, President and CEO of Parfums Christian Dior. “The event is a creative pool looking to the future, the same pioneering spirit has marked the history of our house from the start” he added.

Created by an independent association chaired by the former Minister of Culture Fleur Pellerin, the Cannes International Series Festival aims to present series from around the world. The official selection presents exclusive international and French series emphasizing creativity and audacity.

For six days, creators, talents and the public come together to celebrate the series and discover those who make them successful. A festival that will probably become a reference for professionals since it is linked to MIPTV, the international television market. For the 2022 edition, which took place from April 1 to 6, Christian Dior Parfums celebrated the celebration by awarding the Grand Prix Dior and the Prix Révélation Dior. The Grand Prix Dior went to Audrey’s Back, the first Canadian series selected in long form competition at Canneseries. The jury was chaired by Fanny Herrero, French creator and screenwriter of the excellent series Call My Agent, and selected this brilliant, audacious Canadian series written by Guillaume Lambert and Florence Longpré.

The second prize, Le Prix Révélation Dior, paid tribute to Quebec comedian and actress Rosalie Vaillancourt for her role as Allie in the Canadian series “Complètement Lycée”. The Dior Revelation Award jury was chaired by the famous British screenwriter Anthony Horowitz. Also on the jury is British actor Chinenye Ezeudu who appeared in “The Stranger” and “Sex Education” alongside French actor and producer Marc Ruchman, known for his role in the hit French Netflix series “The Hook up Plan”.

Both prizes were created by French-Swedish artist Ingrid Donat. The collaboration between Ingrid Donat and Christian Dior Parfums began last year when the house entrusted her with the mission of reinventing the emblematic Miss Dior bottle. For Canneseries, the sculptor Ingrid Donat, whose major inspiration for the work comes from the primitive arts, imagined the two trophies. A totem with the Canneseries CS initials in polished white bronze, subtly engraved with the houndstooth motif. “Creating a commissioned piece is a challenge for an artist and sharing it is a great joy” says the artist. “I associated my houndstooth, created especially for Dior, also an emblematic motif of the house, with the Canneseries initials standing like a primitive trophy”. The aesthetic codes of Dior and the designer artist are in perfect symbiosis in this elegant and unique trophy.
