The CMA Fest is one of the biggest events in the country music industry. Fans look forward to the four-day music festival every June as it brings out the best of the best performers. And this year, it’s no different.
The Country Music Association announced the 2022 lineup on Instagram and it’s packed with big-name celebrities such as: Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Kelsea Ballerini, Jason Aldean, and so many others. And while most fans were thrilled with the slate — some calling it “the ultimate show” — others were a bit disappointed by those that didn’t make the cut.
In particular, people took to Instagram to ask about Blake Shelton, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and Walker Hayes. “So disappointed in any @ericchurchmusic,” one person wrote in the caption. “There are some really amazing singers missing this year,” said another. “Why not @walkerhayes?” asked others.

But fans shouldn’t feel offended that a few country music icons won’t be performing at the Nashville event, as it likely has to do with scheduling conflicts. For example, when the CMA Fest takes place in June (9-12), Miranda will perform with Little Big Town on their The Bandwagon tour. As Walker prepares for the Barefoot Country Music Fest, which takes place June 16-19.
So while it’s a bit of a shame we won’t see all of our favorites together during CMA Fest, at least they’ll still be on tour. And, of course, there’s always next year!
