€26,500 in funding to support small festivals


Wexford County Council’s Arts Department has announced that funding of €26,500 has been awarded under a grant scheme for small arts festivals and experimental art events taking place in County Wexford in 2022. The program supports a wide range of small arts festivals and experimental events. across the county with a focus on high artistic quality festivals/events that are innovative and have a strong focus on audience engagement. A total of 12 festivals received funding out of 23 applicants.

Catch 22 / Art Tra – featuring 22 works by artists displayed collectively in various locations on beaches around the Wexford coast, for walkers and other beach users to experience.

· New Ross Piano Festival – various jazz piano events in the town of New Ross.

· Write By the Sea Literary Festival – a weekend of workshops across many genres, panel discussions, talks, interviews and conversations with local and national writers.

The Gap Arts Festival 2022 – A full weekend of outdoor/indoor/online events eg professional theatre, art, music, talks and workshops in Ballythomas, North Wexford and in the surrounding area.

· New Ross Guitar Festival – Featuring three days of events featuring the best guitarists from Europe and Ireland as well as workshops offering key insights into the lives and musical journeys of guitarists.

Polish Cultural Association Gorey.pl – Presentation of a photography exhibition, an Irish-Polish folk evening and the PolskaÉire festival family fun day and other specialities, activities for children and the whole family at Gorey.

· Spring Moves Dance Festival – workshops, performances and talks at various indoor/outdoor venues in Wexford town and online.

The Wexford May Bush Festival 2021 – online program of events.

· The Eugene O’Neill International Theater Festival will take place over four days with five festival venues, from film screenings to the first annual Eugene O’Neill Lecture.

· Jazz at Johnstown – Features three days of jazz music performed on multiple stages plus evening indoor concerts at Johnstown Castle.

· One Voice Festival – One Voice Festival: Shadows and Street Corners with Wexford Arts Centre.

The Gorey May Bush Féile – various activities taking place in the Gorey district or online
