Must know: Thanassis Karathanos couldn’t have gotten off to a better start for his business Twenty Twenty Vision when his first project — Filippos Tsitos My dear home — was selected for competition at the Berlinale in 2001. Since then, the Berlin outfit has become a regular partner of numerous art house festival hits, such as Yaron Shani and Oscar nominee Scandar Copti ajamithat of Naomi Kawase sweet bean (A) and Khadar Ayderus Ahmed The Gravedigger’s Wife. Karathanos’ sister company Pallas Film, based in Halle, has also built an enviable track record as a co-producer of titles as diverse as that of Olivier Assayas. Clouds of Sils Mariaby Sergei Dvortsevoy Aika and Elia Suleiman It must be heaven. Twenty Twenty now has its co-production of Ali Cherri’s debut feature The dam in the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight this year, while Pallas Film is represented in Un Certain Regard with Maha Haj’s Mediterranean fever.

Incoming: Twenty Twenty and Pallas are currently stationed on Michale Boganim Tel Aviv/Beirut and another collaboration with The man who sold his skin director Kaouther Ben Hania, Olfa’s daughters. Meanwhile, principal photography began this spring on Pallas’ production of Penny Panagiotopoulou Wishbone and Sylvie Michel car sharing. Pallas will also serve as executive producer on Gyorgy Palfi’s crime drama Chicken.
