The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary and Monkey Haven were the only double winners in a sparkly and fun night out at the Red Funnel Isle of Wight Awards last night.

As well as Best Grand Attraction, Wroxall Wildlife Park also nabbed Best Place for Dogs.

The sanctuary team told the Isle of Wight County press they were delighted and were still doing their best to accommodate their four-legged friends.

Tracy, Visitor Services Manager and Colunteers Coordinator, said: “Dogs are welcome to roam our supervised grounds and are permitted in our Grazers Cafe.”

From the Isle of Wight Festival to the Best Newcomer-winning Funky Pineapple events, there have been wins for businesses of all sizes.

Engagement with this year’s awards has reached an all-time high.

Isle of Wight County Press:

With more than 200 businesses nominated and a total of 65,000 votes, Red Funnel said the result underscored the resilience and determination of island businesses, particularly in the wake of labor issues in hospitality and the tourism.

The Orchards Holiday Park, Bridlesford Farm, Harbor Kitchen, Smoking Lobster and Monkey Haven were among the gold winners of the evening.

Commenting on last night’s celebrations held at Northwood House in Cowes, with entertainment by carnival specialists from Shademakers and a carnival theme for catering, Fran Collins, Managing Director of Red Funnel, said: ‘This was a pleasure to celebrate with so many local and unique Island businesses that provide exceptional and memorable experiences that keep visitors coming back to the Island.

“I want to congratulate everyone who participated in the awards this year and I’m already looking forward to next year!”
