The organization hired 95% of job seekers who participated in a one-of-a-kind, interactive interview experience

ATLANTE – On Saturday, the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena held their first “interview day” and hired 279 candidates for various part-time roles at the award-winning venue. Job seekers learned about the Hawks’ “True To You” culture through a one-of-a-kind, interactive interview experience. Applicants who came prepared with resumes were given the opportunity to interview hiring managers from various departments such as arena conversion, food and beverage, guest experience, housekeeping, security, Hawks retail, ticketing, flight crew and uniform management.

“We are thrilled to welcome new potential interview day recruits to our Hawks and State Farm Arena culture,” said Camye Mackey, executive vice president of Hawks and State Farm Arena and chief human resources, diversity and inclusion. “As we continue to identify and hire more local talent, we will also find ways to improve our experience for new and seasoned team members alike.”

Of the nearly 293 applicants, 279 candidates have been provisionally hired and will complete a formal background check for official employment. The provisional contestants were also invited to a celebratory festival inside the arena, which included games, food, networking opportunities, and an appearance by Harry the Hawk and the ATL Hawks Dancers.

“Our first day of interviews was a very successful event,” said Brett Stefansson, Hawks executive vice president and general manager of State Farm Arena. “Providing world-class service is one of our top priorities, and we’re excited to extend our offerings to candidates who want to provide memorable experiences for those who come to our award-winning room.”

Part-time job openings will offer a minimum starting wage of $16 per hour. These jobs will also offer benefits such as access to discounted medical services, five paid holidays, paid training and development, and scholarship opportunities. New team members can also expect to receive bonuses for time, attendance and performance while on duty.

On site was Emory Healthcare, the Hawks’ official team healthcare provider, who had clinicians available to speak to contestants about the importance of developing positive health habits, provided blood pressure checks and distributed educational materials.
