Hip-hop group Arrested Development joins Riverbend festival lineup

Riverbend Festival has announced the addition of iconic hip-hop group Arrested Development to its 2022 lineup.

Review for Arrested Development:

Atlanta-based Arrested Development are groundbreaking music group and two-time Grammy Award-winning hip-hop pioneers. True pioneers of hip-hop since 1991, Arrested Development have been cultural champions of awareness and empowerment around the world. Their portrayal of eclectic and vibrant African sounds and clothing produced a unique clash of beats and styles that continue to contrast the expected look and sound of hip-hop culture.

Arrested Development continues its march forward by curating music focused on self-reflection and change. Their new album is no exception. The 17-track album features a line-up of legendary musicians including Big Daddy Kane, The Sugar Hill Gang, Masta Ace and Monie Love and is produced by Speech for Vagabond Productions and Configa. The album brings unparalleled positive lyricism, storytelling and awareness in a way that only Arrested Development can deliver.

In addition to winning two Grammys, the group has also won two MTV awards, a Soul Train Music Award and the NCAAP Image Award. In 1992, Rolling Stone named them “Band of the Year” in 1992, and they were dubbed one of the “greatest hip-hop artists of all time” by VH1. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame named “Tennessee” as one of the “500 Songs That Shaped Rock & Roll”.

Arrested Development is scheduled to perform on Saturday, June 4.

The Riverbend Festival takes place June 3-5 on the edge of the Chattanooga River in Ross’s Landing. The three-day and one-day wristbands are on sale now. All wristbands are non-refundable, shows are rain or shine, and all sales are final.
