IGen Film Festival Hosts Reel 2 Reel Youth Day in Historic Overtown


IGen Film Festival 2022 will hold its Reel 2 Reel Youth Day on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Black Archives-Historic Lyric Theater.

Young people are invited to attend and get advice on what it takes to be a player in the entertainment industry.

103.5 Radio personality Beat Stichiz set to moderate Reel 2 Reel afternoon sessions.

The iGen Film Festival Youth Reel 2 Reel Day is scheduled for Friday, October 28, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Black Archives Lyric Theater Historical Arts Complex located at 819 NW 2nd Ave Miami, Florida 33136. The panel will share its stories and experiences as a way to further the iGen Film Festival’s mission to mentor and prepare aspiring filmmakers and actors to work in the entertainment industry. Rising actors taking part in the day include Ayden Brady, Charity Joy Harrison, and Herod Stephen. The 2022 Ambassador is Alan Gay, best known for his role as young Miranda Bailey on Grey’s Anatomy (season 14) and Nickelodeon’s New to This Planet series. Additionally, some REEL to REEL rising stars have appeared in national commercials, networks and films, such as Fox, ABC, Nickelodeon and Tyler Perry Studios. The IGen Film Festival is made possible with support from the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency, the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Headliner Market Group. The iGen Film Festival is a multi-day event that features international film screenings, masterclasses, workshops, panel discussions, and an annual awards show. In the past, they have featured celebrities and influencers such as Romeo MillerSope Aluko, Jo Marie Payton, Cee Lo Green, Reggie Scott and Ghana Wilson.
