The Island Hopper Songwriter Fest, a 10-day music festival in Lee County, is scheduled to return to Captiva on September 16 and travel to Fort Myers September 19-22, then Fort Myers Beach September 23-25.
Fort Myers Beach will host dozens of musicians, from local star Sheena Brook to festival headliner Gary LeVox, lead singer of Rascal Flatts.
LeVox will headline the pool party at Pink Shell Beach Resort on Sunday, September 25 at 5 p.m. The show will also feature country band Essex County. Tickets to see Levox will cost $49.
Most other shows will be free, with the exception of the headliners. A full band schedule for the festival is available at https://www.island-hopperfest.visitfortmyers.com/schedule
Lee County Visitors and Convention Bureau Executive Director Tamara Pigott said there will be more than 80 singers and songwriters performing more than 100 shows during the festival.
“We are thrilled to host the 8th Island Hopper Songwriter Fest,” Pigot said. “We originally created this event to increase visitors to the destination during a traditionally slower time, but it has now grown into a premier event which has grown in popularity and now brings regular visitors to hear from over 80 songwriters -performers perform over 100 shows.”
The Pink Shell Beach Resort on Fort Myers Beach will host two free shows on Saturday, September 24 featuring musicians Autumn Nicholas and Kaylee Bishop at 1 p.m., followed by Dave Pahanish and Sam Grow at 2:30 p.m.
Dave Pahanish co-wrote the chart-topping country music singles “Do You Believe Me Now” by Jimmy Wayne “American Ride” by Toby Keith and “Without you” by Keith Urban. Pahanish also had songs recorded by Tim McGraw.
Brook, of Fort Myers Beach, will host a female musician kick-off at Cabanas Beach Bar and Grille in Fort Myers Beach on Friday, September 23. “The EMF” The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and will kick off the Fort Myers Beach series of shows.
Starting at 7 p.m., Alana Springsteen will lead an all-female cast in Cabanas that will also include Lala Deaton, Katie Lyon and Nicholas. The Last Drink begins at 8:30 p.m. and will feature performances by Brook, Megan Linville and Kayley Bishop. Both shows are free.
Brook will also be back in Cabanas for a free concert Saturday with the band Late Night Jam, September 24 at 10 p.m. Brook will perform Nervous Nellie’s on Sunday, September 25 at 3 p.m. with Kristen Merlin.
In addition to the Cabanas shows, Brook will perform a number of shows on Captiva, Fort Myers and Fort Myers Beach. His Fort Myers Beach appearances will also include a free show at the Yucatan Beach Stand Bar & Grill on Saturday, September 24 at 2:30 p.m.
Other Fort Myers Beach venues participating in the Island Hopper Songwriters Fest are Matanzas on the Bay, Pierside Grill, and Famous Blowfish Bar and Shucker’s.
