Jonathan Majors hopes to play the “unbridled” Dennis Rodman.
The 33-year-old actor is in talks to play the basketball maverick in ’48 Hours in Vegas,’ which tells the story of the sports star’s infamous trip to Las Vegas during the final of the NBA in 1998.
Jonathan explained that he was desperate to play the role of the “eclectic” athlete to test himself as an actor and compared it to his role as pioneer Navy pilot Jesse Brown in the movie “Devotion”.
He told Variety, “His manhood is unbridled.
“He’s eclectic. He’s open-minded. He’s open-hearted. And, selfishly, you want to play a role like that, because it’s going to push you to that place.
“Jesse Brown is teaching me things about my soul and my spirit. I know Rodman is going to do it too, and I just can’t wait to get on it.”
Jonathan will be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Kang the Conqueror in the upcoming “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” movie and he can hardly believe he’s starring in the popular superhero movies.
He said: “Every time they call and say, ‘Hey, we need you for this’, it’s another miracle.
“Every time there’s an event about it or something breaks about it, I’m like, ‘Yeah, it’s real. “”
The ‘Jungleland’ star explained that he felt a sense of disbelief when he first saw himself as an on-screen supervillain.
Jonathan said: “He looks different to me. He’s a different man to me. He’s used all my gear, but he’s a different cat.
“When I first heard the trailer, I didn’t recognize the voice, and he was telling everything. I was like, ‘What is this?’ I was like, ‘Oh, that’s a great line. That’s a bar, that’s a bar.’
“And then they showed who it was and I was like, ‘Oh, oh, oh, okay, cool’.”
