K-Pop Festival KAMP LA 2022 loses several artists due to visa issues – Billboard


Organizers and artists performing at KAMP LA 2022 predicted it would be “the biggest K-pop event in US history” – but the two-day festival slated for Los Angeles’ Rose Bowl this weekend -end quickly sees his plans escalate.

Over the past 24 hours, online discussions have intensified as most artists scheduled on KAMP’s lineup have not been photographed departing South Korea from one of its international airports. According to a source, a festival organizer shared internally on Friday, October 14 that several artists had visa issues and could not perform at KAMP LA 2022 this weekend. In the same internal communication, the organizer said it plans to offer refunds.

Of the 15 artists scheduled to perform at KAMP LA, only boy band iKON and soloist Chung Ha were pictured departing Korea from Seoul’s Incheon International Airport in the past 24 hours. Five members of boy band Super Junior were also pictured leaving Incheon, but not the full group.

Meanwhile, boy band P1Harmony appear to be in the US already, having shared a photo of their visit to San Diego Channel 93.3 radio station on Friday morning. Three members of girl group aespa are also in the United States, after attending NCT 127’s concert at the Prudential Center in Newark on Thursday.

A representative from P1Harmony confirmed with Billboard that the band plans to perform at KAMP, with rehearsals scheduled for Friday.

Billboard contacted KAMP for official comment, as well as various representatives of artists who were scheduled to perform.

KAMP LA was announced in August with a lineup also including Monsta X, Kai, Zion.T and girl group Lapillus.
