Kanye West pulls out of Rolling Loud Music Fest, Kid Cudi replaces him

American rapper Kanye West has decided not to participate in the Rolling Loud music festival, which is due to begin on Friday July 22 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Festival organizers confirmed his release and decided to put Kid Cudi’s performance in Kanye’s place, making Cudi the headliner, Variety reports.

News of West’s exit from the event comes just days before Rolling Loud’s launch. Co-founders Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingle shared a statement with Variety, saying, “We were looking forward to Ye headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2022. We spent months working with him and his team on the performance. “

“Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he won’t be performing again. This is the first time a headliner has passed our show and while we don’t take it lightly, we wish him the best. We are can’t wait to welcome Kid Cudi as the headliner in Miami and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us,” the statement continued.

Rolling Loud also added that he “did everything possible to keep Kanye in the line-up until the last possible moment” but “he didn’t”.

Cherif claims Rolling Loud has enjoyed a strong “personal and professional relationship” with the rapper which began in December 2021. They revealed they had received multiple assurances from West regarding the Miami 2022 performance and he appeared enthusiastic to about the festival “even urging the company to reveal lineup days “before the scheduled announcement time.”

This isn’t the first time West has pulled out of a performance. According to Variety, earlier this year, West also canceled his headlining appearance at Coachella, citing personal reasons for his withdrawal. West’s departure from Coachella also came on short notice, just 11 days before the California festival.

Just three days ago, West was sued in California court for $7.1 million by a production and design company who said she hadn’t been paid to work on the canceled appearance. from Coachella, as well as the release of “Donda 2” showing several other collaborations.
