(Rising Sun, Ind.) – The Navy Bean Fall Festival Parade is back!
Entries are now available for the Navy Bean Fall Festival 2022 parade. The event will take place on Saturday, September 17 at 10:30 a.m. in downtown Rising Sun.
Pre-registration before August 31 required. Submit a minimum donation of $5 (make checks payable to Navy Bean Fall Festival) for entries entered in the judging categories. There is no charge for unjudged entries.
A grand prize of $300 will be awarded to the best overall presentation of the tank. Prizes of $200 will be awarded to the first place winners in the categories of Best Float Presentation by a Youth Group and Most Entertaining Parade. A second place prize of $100 will also be awarded in each division.
A downloadable parade app with guidelines is available at https://bit.ly/3aBjnO7. Registrations can be picked up in person at City Hall located at 200 N. Walnut Street or at the Visitor Center at 217 N. High Street during regular business hours.
The queue will be at the Maiden Lane boat launch. The parade will go up Poplar St.; turn left on Second St; bear right on Walnut St; and ending at Rising Star Drive. The parade does not return to the starting line. Participants must arrange for pick-up at the end of the trail.
Categories include floats; vehicles; ATV/Motorcycle; pedestrian entrances; antique tractors; and equestrian.
The Navy Bean Fall Festival is presented by the City of the Rising Sun. The event will take place Friday, September 16 from 3:30-10:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 17 from 10:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Enjoy live music, rides, costumed characters, traveling performers, a show of magic and Navy Beans served along the river.
