The free two-day festival sees thousands of visitors flock to Weston-super-Mare to congregate on the seafront to watch a stunning range of aerial entertainment, as well as enjoy the event village on the lawns of the beach at Weston. This will be the first time the event has taken place since 2019.

Another addition to the range is the Calidus Autogyro. Like James Bond’s Little Nellie, the gyroplane may not have the tricks and gimmicks of a Q Division plane, but its spectacular movements and sycamore flight patterns make it a huge crowd pleaser . The Cheeky Champ display will fly for the first year at the event, towing its colorful ribbon across the sky.

A Weston Air Festival favourite, the Slingsby T67 Firefly returns to Weston-super-Mare this year for a dynamic and thrilling performance alongside renowned Aerosuperbatics Wingwalkers who have performed in over 20 countries with their jaw-dropping acrobatics.

As well as a weekend of exceptional entertainment in the sky, the Weston Air Festival offers air show fans the opportunity to enjoy a range of family entertainment along the waterfront and beach lawns and integrates into again the city’s Armed Forces Day celebrations. The event village will feature exhibition stalls, food stalls, family activities and fairgrounds, as well as the chance to meet RAF aircrew up close, ensuring there’s plenty to see and to be done at ground level.

Councilor Mark Canniford, executive member of the North Somerset Council for Space Creation and the Economy, said: ‘The Weston Air Festival draws crowds and is great publicity for the area. Months of planning go into an event of this size and we are delighted to welcome it back to Weston-super-Mare.

“With such an impressive entertainment program and tons of activities stretching out onto the beach lawns, this family-friendly festival will feature spectacular air shows and flights to Weston Bay, as well as seaside entertainment at the Ancient.”
